About Charlie

Why New Hampshire needs Charlie now

Jeanne Shaheen has done a great job as U.S. Senator for New Hampshire, but we need some fresh blood and some new ideas. I have lived in New Hampshire for seven years, and I have brought new ideas to our state.

I have been a school bus driver for two years, I am an Uber driver, and I am a volunteer firefighter. I also run a small business in Peterborough called Cranberry Meadow Farm.

I spent my business career as a senior executive at one of the top five pharmaceutical companies in the world. My most significant position was Head of OTC Pharmaceuticals for North America, a billion dollars in sales. I know how to run a successful business in a very competitive industry.

Then I became Head of Corporate Responsibility. In that role I helped establish differential pricing, where countries pay for medicine based on their ability to pay, not on how much we could price gouge countries like the USA. I was also Head of the Free Medicine Program: in the U.S., if you earn less than four times the poverty level, you received our patented medicines for free.

I am not a career politician. I am a New Hampshire neighbor with proven executive experience and the energy to fight for you.

Fresh ideas vs. worn-out politics

The two other main candidates in the Republican primary are Scott Brown and John Sununu. Both are experienced and accomplished senators. But they have served their time, and they accomplished some limited things. Why put a worn-out career politician back in the Senate to represent the Granite State? We need new ideas.

Charlie Hough outside the White House

On the ground

He shows up. In Peterborough, in Concord, and outside the White House.

Charlie does not send a press release. He drives the bus, runs into the fire, walks the farm, and stands where the decisions are made. That is what representation looks like.

Priorities

A stronger New Hampshire, in plain terms

Affordable health care for those who earned it

Hard-working Americans who contribute to the system have earned access to affordable, high-quality care. Protect what you have earned, and rein in out-of-control drug prices. We should not pay twice what Switzerland pays for the same medicine.

Fair taxes that protect working families

Keep taxes low in the Granite State. Lift the Social Security cap: someone earning over $185,000 would not notice 6.2% above it, and it saves the program. Anyone earning over $1 million pays 5% more on the amount above it. Small for them. Large for our country.

Strength and prosperity

Border security. Diplomacy through strength. Domestic energy production. These are the issues Charlie will work on from day one, alongside the two above.
